This company was founded by two actors who played an active role during the independent theatre movement in the 1970s. One of their most successful productions is ‘Pareja abierta’, or ‘Mister Ibrahim’ and the flowers of Koran.
The company has also produced shows that are suitable for children. Their goal is to create quality theatre that provides entertainment for young audiences while teaching them. This includes a focus on emotional stories and interesting stories. The costumes, set design music, acting, and music are all equally important.
The name Uroc comes from the mythical bison that was extinct in Europe by the 17th century. The Theater, too, is a mythical beast that disappears with each performance. It’s just like a uroc… Olga Margallo Antonio Munoz e Mesa lead this new stage in Uroc Teatro. A company founded by Petra Martinez and Juan Margallo in 1985, the company is still as active as ever. Our shows, for both family and adult audiences, have toured Spain. We were selected to perform at many international festivals in France, Portugal Argentina, Chile USA, Paraguay Dominican Republic. Our shows have received great public and critical success.
In 2010, the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts was awarded to us in recognition of our career, which began more than 30 years prior. Uroc is dedicated to producing high-quality theater that will appeal to both adults and children.
